Blog#1 Pre-Project
I was inspired to create my senior project because it applies to my everyday life, and my future. I want to complete this project in order to help other student-athletes. I want to give them a resource and provide them better opportunities than the one I walked in with. I also want to help them find the proper balance between being a student and an athlete in order to become the best person possible. My project is connected to my high school experience and is my chance to help and give back to my community within the strength and athletic department of Hawken. I am also broadening my horizons and knowledge of my past experience/s by being able to shadow and see the other side of training and athletics and all of the planning that goes into them. Over the course of my project, I will be helping out with the new wellness center, sitting in on planning meetings for training, and doing anything else that might be needed for athletic and/or human performance departments. I will also be trying to create a guide to assist the student-athletes of Hawken because I want each generation [to] introduce its successor to a higher plane of life.
I'm really excited about your project! I can tell that your own experience as a student-athlete is at the center of your commitment to the project. Walking into the project, what do you think is the most important thing you want to share with students in the guide? Is there one piece of advice that you have now?
